When Daniella Watson was orphaned at age 5 her aunt Caroline took over parenting duties without hesitation. Now it is Daniella’s turn to care for her aunt who has been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s Disease. “Any man I become involved with has to accept my aunt, too. She wandered into her bedroom and sat on the little stool in front of her dresser. "You need to fix that lady's lunch," she said, pointing to her reflection in the dressing table mirror.
"It's okay," I said. "She had lunch while you were out riding."
"Are you sure? She looks hungry."
"Maybe you can have a snack with her when you wake from your nap."
The thought of sharing a snack with someone seemed to ease the concern my aunt felt. "I am rather tired," she replied, yawning.
"Have a good sleep, sweetie," I said, hugging her and kissing the top of her head. "I'll see you later."
