Dream Walker by J. R. Thomas

(about this author)

  • Jay Gibbs is drawn to his grandfather's ranch by disturbing dreams of wolves. Wolves that speak of a Cherokee legend and a prophecy to be fulfilled. As Jay stumbles deeper into his mysterious connection with the wolves, an ancient voice speaks...from his soul. A voice which tells him he must choose to protect ageless secrets...or destroy hope for all mankind.

Day Star “Daisy” Evans of the powerful Cherokee Ani-Yun-Wiya Clan, has walked in dreams before. But now, the dreams are not her own. And the mysterious young man who seeks her gaze with ageless eyes draws her close, with an unspoken promise of their connected souls, and a secret that must be guarded forever.

    Excerpt:

She lay there quietly, staring into the sky when a rustling of nylon material told her that Jay had rolled over to sleep.

The evening serenade of the crickets lulled her mind into a restful peace—as two gentle hands framed her face.

She gasped as Jay’s face appeared above hers, sending wild butterflies loose in her chest. The tiny space between their eyes became a solitary universe as his mouth closed on hers and the tenderness of his kiss stole her mind and soul for several glorious seconds. Her heart pounded in her chest and a tear squeezed from closed eyes while a breathless joy warmed her body—before they parted.

He paused, looking down at her, the stars forming a wondrous outline around him as his words floated through the blissful moment.

    “We’ll find your father.”

Taking her hands, holding her captive with his heart, his gentle voice caressed the seeds of time…and hope.

    “Good night, Day Star.”

One of the best books i have read in the last five years. Excellent flow of time and history along with mythical pasts and older times with a update into current times. This is a definite read for anyone of all ages!!! It takes you back to a simpler time and opens your mind to the possible that was impossible. Kids and parents will like this and any animal lover will as well. Now i have to wait for the sequel!!!!
