Writing in paradise! What could be better than that?
A native of Montclair, N.J., I graduated from The Montclair Kimberley Academy and Syracuse University with a degree in English Education. While at Syracuse, I served as Vice Chairman of The Student Union. After graduation, I married my college sweetheart and taught junior high school English for a few years. I then worked for a daily
newspaper as a proof reader in the newsroom.
We decided to move to Florida while we were young enough to enjoy all the beaches had to offer. When we discovered Ft. Myers Beach, Estero Island, with its seven miles of white sand beaches and blue green Gulf waters, we knew it would be our home. Jobs were a bit scarce so I opened my own home entertainment business and ran it for twenty years until I sold it. During that time I was elected regional chapter president for our national trade association. I also served on the national scholarship committee as well as working on legislation that affected first amendment issues for our type of business in Florida. Our national conventions were amazing with parties in studio backlots, The Playboy mansion, and live performances.
I am currently a member of our island marine science center, Romance Writers of America, and The Southwest Florida Romance Writers. I was honored to serve on a county board of directors for a no-kill animal shelter for two years.
I live on a sleepy lagoon with my husband (same college sweetheart) where we can watch manatees
play and dolphin swim. We share it with our dolphin hunting dog Max, a shelter adoptee, who can sense a dolphin's presence before it surfaces. To be honest, Max shares his home with us!
