I was born and raised n the Western Pennsylvania town of Ligonier. After graduating from The University of Florida in 1973, I spent five years teaching high school overseas in Madagascar and The Sultanate of Oman. Upon returning to America, I substitute taught for several years, before joining Childrens' Hospital of Seattle as a Dietary Supervisor for 23 years until retirement in 2011. Since then, I returned to my first love, writing.
